Help Me Decide: Short Sleeved Leather Jackets: Hot or Not?

I'm starting to see leather jackets in store windows and I can't tell you how psyched it makes me...but I'm not sure how I feel about the whole short sleeve thing...part of me likes that it's good for those not so chilly days, plus it may provide some cool layering possibilities BUT the other part of me feels like, as I've mentioned previously that it's akin to wearing flip flops in the snow.

I found these pretty jackets online:

I'm still torn. Please help me decide: short sleeve leather jackets, hot or not?!

I like a short-sleeved leather jacket. It's like a shrug. There are times it's not very cold but you just want to have your shoulders covered. I'm not a big fan of either of these two example though :-(

hmm. i guess i'd probably go with at least elbow-length. but to be honest, if i'm going to splurge on leather, i'm probably looking for something that will be stylish and actually functional too...read, it'll have sleeves.

tough call, though, as i'm loving the leather jackets this fall AND the short-sleeved jackets...so i can see where the combo would seem ideal.

i am not a fan of the super short sleeve, but i think the elbow length is workable for autumn and spring.

i agree with the above, if i am going to spend on leather, i want it to be functional. i might leave short sleeve leather to the models.

the fist one will work for various styles. the second one is cute but not sure how practical it will be.

I like the fitted jacket better... long sleeve will be more practical but if you're choosing between those two.. definitely the first one.
