Help Me Decide: Cork Purses, Hot or Not?

Photobucket

I'm not sure how I did, but I found this cork and gold-flecked purse on eBay and I'm really torn over whether or not I should bid. Part of me thinks what a unique and unexpected accessory and the other part of me thinks is this some 5th grade craft project gone horribly wrong?

Help me decide, is this cork bag hot or not?!

I understand your hesitation, but I find the gold flecks give it a really interesting texture and look.

I've seen these in the past and felt the same tug of war. I think if I was in a sort of extra modern mood (architectural/sculptural) this is the right accessory to bring it back down to earth. That's just me though!

I got a cork clutch last year and I love it. It's a nice summery neutral.

In Sardegna, where i'm born and my family lives, cork bags are traditional kind of handicraft, so i think those look folksy and rough. The bag you proposed looks particular and unespected, but not my taste.

Yes.

If only because then you'd clearly be in with the whole chic "Green" thing that's happening.

But also you should get it because it's adorable.

not! i'd be worried about what would happen to it if it ever got wet

I'd bid; it's cool, and nobody else will have one.

It is very unusual, I can't really make my mind up about it!!

It's not my taste, but I could see it working.

The first time I saw it, I was like: God, definately not. But the longer I look at it, the nicer it gets.. With the right outfit it could be lovely, it also depends on how much it costs. I won't buy it if it costs more then 5$.

i am such a traditionalist when it comes to bags...i'm pretty much canvas, leather, or nothing. so i'm going to say "not"...but without prejudice :)
