Trends Report: Miss Fancy Pants

With many designers favoring layered looks this Fall, pants go to extremes in ultra-skinny to glamorously flared. Look for the following trends in pantalones to keep your look current.

Cigarette. Slim-fitting trousers and leggings are still the rage and the perfect complement to Fall’s many layers. The narrow fit keeps a potentially inflated look balanced. Update stovepipe pants with a peplum jacket or try a pair in silk or with lace embellishments which adds a bit of rocker girl chic. We especially love them tucked into knee high boots or kitten heel booties.

Slouch. Relaxed cuts also prevailed on the runway, and we love the refreshing change of pace. Slouchy trousers without front pockets that sit on the hips and balloon towards the ankles will keep your look long and lean. Consider a pair in leather, which is unexpected and makes a bold style statement.

Wide leg. Channel Greta Garbo or Katherine Hepburn with wide-leg trousers that exude the ultra-feminine silhouettes of the 1930s and '40s. If your face is Curved, try a blouse with a gently ruffled collar and add a fitted vest for a 3pc. suit look that is pulled together. If your face is more Angular, a slim button-down shirt or even a tee is a great choice. Just be sure the pants aren't too flared for your Bodyline or they will make a classic silhouette look costumey.
