The ikat trend has been pretty big this summer and doesn't show signs of letting up any time in the near future. Go to any mall or fashion district and you'll see the graphic pattern everywhere. The problem with a hot trend is that knockoffs are plentiful and many are just cheap imitations that are more garish than stylish.
Never one to settle for such nonsense, I hunted down an international resource a few months back and was so thrilled with my ikat scarf that I had to share the love. Uzbek Alive sells skads of deliciously colorful scarves and ikat print fabric with most prices in the $30 - $40 USD range.
You won't know where to begin. But here's a good start: order now until July 21st and get FREE shipping from Uzbekistan.

now that is a serious deal - what a fab find!! i remember this site from a lucky mag mention a few months ago, but they were picked over lightning fast, so nothing was left...and shipping was astronomical. i'm not missing the boat this time, dammit!
ah Lucky, of course, that's where I heard about it!
Go for it - I have been loving my purchase, it's gotten me through wacky Spring weather and a killer air conditioning unit for a while now.
Whoah those are gorgeous.
I love your blog. Are you interested in exchanging links ?
ive added you already :)
Kaleidescope prints!! How FUN! ♥ Thanks for the comments, sweetie. xoxo
These prints are truly different, they aren't obviously like any other ethnic style of print at all. How refreshing!
great resource, thanks, I'm big on scarves!
LOVE this trend and have found some great options at forever 21 as well. it's such a subtle way to embrace a trend by wearing it in the form of a scarf. great post!
This is a gorgeous scarf-well done on a great find!!
