New York Magazine featured this Marc Jacobs Margie Terry dress as today's Best Bet, but frankly, I'm a little on the fence about terry cloth garments. What do you think? Would you wear this?

after juicy couture's invasion of the terry cloth market(at one point, even my foreign grandmother declared, 'i tink i vant one of dose sveat suits.'), i'm slightly sick of the fabric. however, this little nautical-inspired marc number brought me right back. i think it's amazing!
If you're going to the beach. Otherwise, nah.
this is really cute, but it seems a little stuck between casual and more than casual, right? I guess that means it's a perfect Hamptons dress?!
I'm seriously suspect of those shoes with it, however.
Perhaps terry is one of those things to be used sparingly. A bit here or there, fine. A whole dress? Not too sure...reminds me of tacky kids' bathrobes...
I like this item and think it is really HOTTTTT
LOL el butonez - I thought the same thing, those shoes really take that dress into matron territory for sure!
i love marc jacobs just
hate the dress and fabric.
sorry.
somehow, it reminds me of an apron. a nice one.
thanks for your comment
cute dress by the way =)
Vintage terrycloth? Yes. Or in romper form. I don't know about this dress, but I have nothing against terrycloth as a textile.
ugh. not in the summer. or anywhere where there is no sand and surf to be found please!

I have that I use for the beach. Its black and a great cut and people always comments who they would like one.I actually think the fabric is ok and will look for another one myself. Love this, but I am guessing its above my budget for such a dress!
i don't have anything against terry cloth - i DO have something against paying Marc Jacobs' prices for the fabric. i think this Forever 21 Terrycloth Jumper is a much more reasonable way to rock the trend, no?
thanks for your comments on Cheap JAP, btdubs ;)
Right you are Alexandra - that's a great li'l jumper, long live Forever21 and thanks so much for the link!
