Banana Republic: Today's Daily Double

New markdowns have been taken at Banana Republic today but you, my stylish readers, are far too savvy to jump on that bandwagon just yet.

Why slow your roll?

A while back I told you about this swell shopping site Ebates which allows you to earn rebates on your purchases through their site. I've been a member for over a year and it has paid off in more ways than one. (read: great deals and money deposited directly into my checking account)

Well, the good folks over at Ebates know a thing or two about the art of the deal. Once a week they feature a different retailer as a "Daily Double" meaning, you shop on that day and receive a rebate for twice the usual amount. Today is Banana Republic's turn. Earn an additional 6% off their already marked down prices of 15% off.

Here's what you need to know: in order to get the rebate you must go to Ebates first and register. Once you do click on the link to Banana Republic and you're on your way to your 6% rebate.

To score BR's promotion you should enter code: FALLSALE upon checkout. But hurry, that sale's over on 10/1 and remember the daily double is today only.

I may have to splurge on this flirty little number myself:

Pretty sweet huh?

Turn Back The Hands of Time - For 50% Off!

I'm never one to turn down a good deal, especially when it involves making my skin look better at 50% off!

Wei East offers a wide variety of skincare and makeup products that "balance the best of the east and west" - you should read Wei's
story, it's truly inspiring.

Since I am always interested in learning more about natural skin care alternatives I was fascinated by the selection of herbs Wei uses and her explanation of each.

Here's an excerpt from the site:

Ganoderma Lucida (Reishi Mushroom)

Story

The Reishi mushroom has over 4000 years of history in China and has been called the "mushroom of immortality" and the "food of the Gods." In search of this rare herb that only grows on the bark of three out of every ten thousand plum trees, ancient Chinese royalty used to send envoys in search of the Reishi mushroom in order to secure good health, longevity and happiness.

Science

Reishi mushroom contains ergosterol, protein, amino acids and organic acids. For centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicines, Ganoderma Lucidum has been considered to be precious for its anti-aging anti-inflammatory and environmental stress protections benefits.

Reishi mushroom is found in the following Wei East products:

Time Delay, White Lotus Moonlight Recovery, White Lotus Daylight Perfection, White Lotus Hydrating Lip Balm & White Lotus Defining Moment Finishing & Correcting Serum.

Dior Gladiator Knockoffs

Remember when the Sex And The City movie premiered and every one wanted to get their well manicured mitts on a pair of Carrie's Dior gladiator pumps? Though it feels like eons ago in actuality it's only been about two months...or about the time it takes for someone to come along and knock them off.

If you're still craving a pair, thank The Fashionable Housewife whose mad internet skillz turned up a pair for under $20:

Photobucket

Available through a seller on eBay, natch, they come in black, grey, and ivory and come in multiple sizes. Of course with shipping they're more like $30 -- but heck -- that's still way cheaper than the Steve Madden & Baker's knockoffs that turned up earlier.

Curious? Check out the goods here.

On second though a little cha cha never hurt either. How about the gardenia print Chloe dress by Ya Ya Aflalo:

Trends Report: Top Beauty Finds Under $10

Given that a gal’s gotta put her face on even during the toughest of times, it makes sense that the beauty industry is virtually recession-proof. But when gas sells for more per gallon than our fave pint of Ben & Jerry’s, we have to draw the line. That’s why we’ve scoured the web to bring you the best deals in the beauty aisle, all under $10 to make sure your makeup bag, belly, and car aren’t all running on empty.

Look for products that do more than one thing. This Zoya Polish Remover also cleans and preps nails so that polish adheres better. Plus, it has a great lavender scent and flipper bottle top which makes using it a breeze. Another multi-tasker is CO Bigelow’s Mentha Cinnamint Lip Shine. It glosses your lips with a refreshing tingly sensation, plus its cinnamon scent acts as a breath-freshener so you’ll be close-up ready in more ways than one.

Bath & Body Works

Convenience is a key factor that makes a good beauty product great. Pond’s Cleansing Towelettes are superb for cutting through makeup at the end of the day without irritating sensitive skin, and they’re easily packed whenever you need a refreshing pick-me-up on the road. They’re also great for self-tanner slip-ups.

Epsom salts may not sound like a glamorous choice, but just a small amount (about 2 cups) added to your bath provides welcome relief from stiff, sore muscles. Add an essential oil such as skin-loving lavender or lemongrass – which are known stress relievers – and turn your bath into a blissful aromatherapy experience. An added bonus? Save on those weekly massage sessions with Sven and put the cash towards a Fall 2008 wardrobe update.

One beef with hair products is their usually sticky nature. Not so with Sunsilk Hairapy – it makes wavy locks look like they’ve spent the day at the beach, and straight hair gets a kick too. You get the best of both worlds in a gel and cream that makes hair frizz-free yet isn’t sticky or greasy on hands.

Dry, scaly bits become a thing of the past with Korres Guava Body Butter, which leaves skin feeling silky smooth with a scent that doesn’t overpower. The trial size is under $10 and is airline-friendly.
