I can't believe I didn't get this memo earlier...designer Jane Mayle is calling it quits.
Her holiday/resort collection that will hit stores in November will be her last, and her NoLita store will close it's doors in February.
Ugh. It's a sad day in fashion history.
I found this quote from her which makes me mad, sad, and totally fed up:
"How I came to this business was all about dreaming and building a wardrobe you would be seduced by. That mystery and remoteness and insouciance have disappeared from fashion in order to accelerate the product. I feel I have just become another cog in that machinery.”
I'm too disturbed by this to say any more.

oh you have got to be kidding. it's bad enough with jovovich-hawk going away, but this too? sad news in the fashion world.
I was sad when I heard the news too.
I read about it in the WWD that I steal from my dad's office.
j'adore le sac frangé kis!
I saw this on Racked and couldn't believe it. I love her designs, my stylist has lots of Mayle and let me borrow some and I totally fell in love. Her quote is eloquent and sad.
